A sliding barn door is a great way to add extra space to your bathroom.  You simply install the track above the door opening and hang the door.  Slide it over the opening for privacy and then slide it away to create the illusion of a larger space.  Barn doors are also easily customizable to match the existing aesthetic of the room.  Add a door with a flat surface and fun colors for a modern look or go for a more rustic look with a door that has some character and neutral, earthy tones.

There is no such thing as too much storage.  Floating shelves are an awesome way to create extra storage while still saving up floor space.  Keeping your shelves off the floor will make your bathroom look larger.

Crown molding is incredibly versatile.  Pair up some molding with fun colors to create a unique and unexpected look.  Use some trim to create a bathtub surround.  You can even add trim to your bathroom door to give it some character.  It is simple to add and it can completely change the look of the room.

This year alone, our phones have been ringing off the hook, with new and old customers asking about remodeling. As part of the report, Remodeling Magazine literally breaks down the cost recouped on projects in a metro area, including St. Louis. Below are the top projects in St. Louis:

• Basement Remodel – Cost recouped 52.4%
• Bathroom Addition – Cost recouped 47.9%

• Deck Addition (wood) – Cost recouped 70.7%

We would like to highlight the top project on this list, attic bedrooms. This project has been on the list three years running. While an attic remodel is more expensive than other typical remodels, they have proven to be highly valued.

With a dormer, attic bedrooms can be the size of a typical bedroom in the existing footprint of the home. In many cases we can add closet space in the eaves and even include a bathroom.
