Hometalk and Houzz: enhancing the design world

Almost exactly one year ago, we joined the wonderful world of Pinterest! To be honest, we weren’t really sure what to expect when we first signed up. Sure the statistics were quite impressive, but was it really going to translate to anything? Well, after one year I think we have a verdict… Pinterest has pinned our heart. HomeTalk

Not only does Pinterest give us an outlet to highlight our past projects, but it allows us to explore all the amazing DIY projects out there. If you haven’t connected with us on Pinterest, please feel free to peruse our pin boards as often as you like!

Aside from Pinterest, there are two other new(ish) social media channels that many remodelers and designers are turning to, Houzz and Hometalk. What are they and how do they differ from Pinterest, you ask? Let us explain.

Hometalk is a site devoted to Home Décor, renovations, and remodeling tips. Like Pinterest, pictures play a major part in the functionality of the site. While the photo sharing feature is very similar to Pinterest, its ability to pose questions, share experiences and offer advice is what truly sets Hometalk apart. If you would like to join us on Hometalk, please visit us at: http://www.hometalk.com/riggsconstruction

Now let’s move on to what might just be our favorite social media portal: Houzz! We know what you are probably thinking: “Houzz and Pinterest… one and the same.” Well, not exactly. Pinterest is mainly a breeding ground for DIYers and crafters. Houzz, on the other hand, is filled with architects and designers all over the site. Simply pose a design related question and you will—in most cases—receive an answer.

Want to join us on Houzz? Please visit us at: http://www.houzz.com/pro/riggsconstruction/riggs-construction-design.

In all honesty, we LOVE all three of these sites. If you are currently getting ready to start a remodeling or renovation project, we suggest utilizing all of them.

At RIGGS Company & Design, excellence is more than a habit—it’s a way of life. If you’re looking for superior home remodeling solutions, please feel free to give us a call or connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Hometalk and/or Houzz today!
